TROOP 452 COMMITTEE MEETING
MINUTES
January 21, 2004
Call to order: Meeting was called to order by Robbie McAfoos.
Approval of Minutes: Minutes from December 2003 were approved.
Calendar Review:
Winter Camp: Steve Lippold reported on Winter Camp 2004. The female bathroom in the Scoutmaster’s Lodge was broken the entire week. Camp offered training, but it was not announced until camp week, so there was no early notification of training opportunities. Steve states camp will try to correct this in the future, and have training signup for adults pre-camp. Kathleen announced Polar Gator patches were ordered for Fall and Winter Camps, as the temperature dropped to freezing at both camps. She should receive some sort of notification by this spring.
Caroling at the nursing home went well and was fun.
A meeting with Mary Queen pastor, Father Skip, was held in December. Robbie McAfoos, Committee Chair, Alan Valicek, Scoutmaster attended. Also in attendance was outgoing Chartered Organizational Representative, Ken Shores, and incoming Chartered Organizational Representative, Randy Waibel. The Committee thanks Ken Shores for his years of service, and looks forward to his continued input. The Troop still has a need for some storage space, and asked about the garage by the trailer. Father Skip will get back with the troop on this, as access needs to be approved by a church group. The Committee discussed that the Troop also needs to plan some service projects to assist the church. Scouts could also plan Eagle projects for the church. psam ordener suggested the troop consider posting announcements in the church bulletin. Randy Waibel will submit information for Scout Sunday. Kathleen Meyers stated she could submit further announcements as needed..
