COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
Senior Center, Friendswood, Tx

January 19^th , 2010

Welcome and Introduction:  Carla called the meeting to order at 7:02pm.  Those present include Carla, Mark M, Rudy, Margaret, Chris, Samuel, Karen, Denise, Margo, Tim, and Amy .

Previous Minutes: There were no changes to the minutes and they were approved by the Committee.

Treasury Report: Report given by Denise. The total in the account at the end of December was $10742.13. The amount in the Scout accounts is $1,339.35. The troop has not yet paid for recharter. The trip to Lexington in February is paid for and a $290 deposit has been paid for summer camp. The Treasurer’s report was approved.

The senior patrol leader (SPL) stated that the troop is working on the Aviation merit badge and the troop should be finished in a couple of weeks.

Chris Yee reported that 28 scouts and 19 adults have signed up for recharter. Two scouts have not yet paid. A motioned was made and seconded to pay for their recharter and let them pay later. The motioned passed. The list of adult positions will be updated as well.

The Calendar was discussed next and during the Pinewood Derby at the end of January the scouts will be serving food and drinks as usual. The troop will try to arrange the Pine needle clean up with the Knights of Columbus for 2/12-13^th . Rudy will try and schedule an Archery merit badge class sometime this Spring as well. For summer camp the distance is 918 miles round trip. This will cost the troop about $200 to pull the trailer there and back. A gas fee will be added to the cost of summer camp.

The committee approved a motion to start passing out kerchiefs when Scout rank is made and not wait until the Court of Honor. Current Scouts who have not yet received a kerchief will receive it at the next Court of Honor in February.

Margo has volunteered to be the new Committee Chair replacing Carla. The Committee would like to thank Carla for all the hard work she has done in the past years.

27^th Blue and Gold Banquet. The Troop helps the Pack with this event. The Troop is not expecting a large number of Webelos to cross over this year.
