COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
Friendswood Library
February 21, 2007

Welcome and Introduction:  Randy, acting in Carla's absence, called the meeting to order at 7:11 pm.  Those present:  Randy, John, Mark, Dorothea, and Denise.
Previous Minutes:  Dorothea noted Mark had made some grammatical corrections to the minutes before posting them on the website; these corrections did not change the content of the minutes.  John motioned the minutes approved as posted, Denise seconded.  Committee approved the minutes as posted.
Treasury Report:  Denise stated $7104.47 in the Troop account, which includes $1628.79 as Recharter fees and $1962.23 as Summer Camp fees collected.  This number also includes Scout camp fees.  Randy asked how Recharter was progressing- how many Scouts/adults had rechartered.  Mark commented that Carla's computer had crashed.  Randy reminded Committee that Father Skip needed to sign the Recharter before it was sent to Council.
Denise noted the Scout camp accounts had increased with the sales of popcorn and briskets. Popcorn sales totaled $339.50 and brisket sales totaled $410.  Once she obtains an update of camp accounts she will distribute a new quarterly report to the Scouts.  Mark stated that David M. was in charge of camp accounts now.
Denise received a check from the Pack for $125 for their portion of the garage door installation.  She stated Mark had also submitted a rebate for $20 for the garage door purchase.
Denise wrote a check to the Knights of Columbus for $100; they will hold the check as a deposit to allow the Scouts to camp/use the grounds at the Knights of Columbus property.
Denise noted $557.49 was spent on trailer equipment and building of the storage box for Troop supplies.  This amount includes the money approved for building expense for the box.  Three new tires and trailer door ties were purchased.
John motioned the treasury report approved as verbalized, Mark seconded.  Committee approved the report.

Other:  Randy stated Father Skip was upset concerning the storage box in the garage (the box has been removed from the garage).  The Scouts do not have an agreement with the Parish (Council) on usage of the garage.  A meeting is to be set up with Father Skip, Parish Council, and members of the Troop and Pack to get something in writing stating what space is designated for the Scouts.  No date has been set at this time for the meeting.  The Archdiocese has also asked for the trailer to be moved out of sight.
Randy asked if Catholic religious emblems classes would occur this year.  Dorothea stated she would start teaching in March; they will meet at 6:30 pm before the Troop meetings.  She has two Scouts for the AAD class at this time and is hoping for two-three more.  A Pope Pius class may also form.  She also stated she would try to contact Troop 442 about the classes.
Adjournment:  Next meeting is scheduled for March 21, site unknown at this time.  The meeting adjourned at 7:54 pm.
