COMMITTEE
MEETING MINUTES
FRIENDSWOOD LIBRARY
February 18, 2009
Welcome and Introduction: Carla called the meeting to order at 7:03
pm. Those present: Carla, Karen, Sam, Dorothea, SPL, David, Mark
K., Denise, Mark, Mary, and Mark T.
Previous Minutes: No changes noted to the minutes; minutes approved by
Committee
Treasury Report: Denise stated the Troop account is $8700.21 with the
Scout accounts at $1804.79.
Recharter is complete. Twenty-nine Scouts and fifteen adults
registered. Carla noted the adult applications have two pages to fill-
the back of the front cover signed to permit background check and the
application itself filled out.
Committee approved treasury report as stated.
SPL Report: Religious emblems received on Sunday, February 15. Set
up flags on that Sunday also; took flags down on Monday. Good Scout
turnout for flags. One flag is missing. A Scout is teaching Emergency
Prep merit badge at the Troop meetings. SPL felt this possibly helps with
Troop participation. Troop went camping at Huntsville in January- went to
the prison museum, worked on camping merit badge, chopped wood, and did a 5
mile hike.
Work Request: Father Skip sent a request for the Troop to do three
activities: 1) keep the curbs of Church property and parking lot painted with
oil based paint, 2) weed the retreat house and have a pool party, 3) pick up
trash on Mary Queen lane, property and around trash bins. Committee
suggested Randy coordinate with the Church and the Troop for one Church
activity per month. Carla will contact Randy.

locks. Committee decided to purchase both. Committee approved $150
for purchase of trailer locks.
Denise stated she will purchase the tag for the trailer.
Other: Karen suggested a Scout be able to use the money in his account to
fund his Eagle project. This might encourage older Scouts to participate in
Troop fundraisers. Mark wants to ask Mr. Bennet if this is O.K. to
do. Committee tabled this proposal until Mark talks with Mr. Bennet.

adjourned at 8:13pm.
