COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
FRIENDSWOOD LIBRARY
March 12, 2008



Welcome and Introduction:  Carla called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm.  Those present:  Carla, Mark, Karen, Gregg, Dorothea, Denise, and SPL
Previous Minutes:  No changes noted to the minutes, approved as posted.
Treasury Report:  Denise reported the total of the Troop account as $8188.84.  She stated the Troop had a steady flow of flag subscription money.  The Troop also received a $750 contribution from an Eagle Scout parent, Mr. Kachnik.  The first payment of $1440 was sent to Longhorn Council for Summer Camp.  The trailer tags also came due and were paid. The treasury report was approved as reported.
SPL Report:  Scouts like the railroading merit badge.  Scouts talkative during meetings.  OA elections on March 24; Karen will make the ballots.
Activities:  Gregg stated he is going to start Pope Pius religious emblem in April.  He plans to have weekend meetings.  He will try to schedule them around the Troop activities so the Scouts participating can still participate in those activities.  Mark wondered if they could meet at the same time and do both activities.  Mark reported the Troop received two new Scouts from Crossover; not sure if one of them has paid the Charter dues.  Karen stated she has the registration paperwork.  Carla commented the registration paperwork should come to her.

April 5: Eagle COHs at Mary Queen
April: Quintana Beach campout
May 4: Mary Queen Festival
May: canoe trip?
May 23: Summer camp final payment due
June 8-13: Youth Leadership training
June: Summer camp; No one signed up for base camp, all high adventure.  Mark is uncertain if the Troop selects the activities they participate in or if they are assigned the activities.
Equipment:  Mark noted the trailer has a broken fender light.  He also stated the wheel bearings need greased.  Gregg stated they are auto greasing wheel bearings.  He will show Mark after the meeting how to refill them.  Gregg reported all 14 tents are present and all lanterns are in good condition for camping.
Advancement:  Karen stated she had two Scouts advance in rank.  She also noted a new requirement for First Class.
Adjournment:  The next meeting is April 16.  The meeting adjourned at 7:55 pm.
