Church Festival- May 7th; same weekend as Schlitterbahn trip.  Denise will ask Alan if he will help set up the monkey bridge.  Dorothea noted the Scouts also normally help with parking.  Karen felt the new adult leaders could help with the festival as well as the Scouts not going to Schlitterbahn.  Randy suggested putting out a sign up sheet at the next Troop meeting.  He also asked if any service project was set up for June. Dorothea stated the Troop usually does a project for the Church during the summer months. Randy will check with Father Skip to see what needs done around the Church.
SPL Report:  SPL stated Troop meetings were a little disorganized during activities.  Last meeting covered Buffalo Trails hiking/backpacking and the fishing merit badge at the same time.  List of Scouts participating in merit badge given to Karen.  Gregg asked SPL why Scout participation was down.  SPL felt that boys not interested in Scouting and other kids at school make fun of you when they find out you're a Scout.  Committee felt it was because no new Scouts had crossed over this year.  Karen asked SPL when the Troop would have OA elections.  Gregg stated OA tap out was April 21-23.  Karen asked if OA elections could be started at the next meeting.  SPL stated the drug program was scheduled for that meeting.  Discussion ensued concerning meeting schedule and date for election as well as OA presentation.  No decision was made at this time.
Advancements:  Karen stated she couldn't update Troopmaster until Troop is rechartered.  Randy stated he would call John Y.
Training:  Henry presented a reorganization of the Troop patrols.  Discussion ensued over the Patrols.  Patrol listing not changed from Henry's presentation.  Patrol leaders have not yet been elected.  Denise stated she would check the charter list to make sure all boys rechartered were in a Patrol.
Henry stated three Scouts are signed up for JLT.  Kathleen reminded Committee that orientation for JLT is May 15.  Dorothea asked when the Troop would do its training for the new leaders.  Henry said he would check on that.
Camping:  Kathleen presented pricing for a chartered bus for Summer Camp.  Best price thru Genesis- $4900.  Company stated Troop not responsible for driver's room.  She will check on the tip rate.  Committee asked if the price would change with gas pricing.  Kathleen stated the contract states price subject to change if a change is made in the itinerary.  Bus size= 47.  Mark asked that limits be set on amount of equipment each Scout brings.  He also asked if TV's and video games were on the bus, Kathleen will check on this.  Kathleen motioned for Genesis to be the chartered bus company used by the Troop to go to Summer Camp, Mark seconded.  Committee approved the motion.  Denise gave Kathleen a check for the deposit.  Committee determined the Troop would pay half of the bus fee with those going to Summer Camp paying the other half plus any tip.
Henry stated the Troop needs to rent tents at Buffalo Trails for base camp.  He asked when was the last date for merit badge registration.  Kathleen stated it was May 17.  Gregg asked Kathleen if she had checked on the requirements for Geology merit badge since they had changed for this year.  Kathleen stated she had talked with Buffalo Trails and they said to make sure the Scouts did their rock collection.  Discussion ensued concerning filling the bus to go to Buffalo Trails.  Committee felt no need to push filling the bus.  If other Troops wished to go, they could make their own merit badge selections and share in the payment of the bus for their transportation.  Committee made bus payment due by May 22, 2006.  Payment is $100 per person going to Buffalo Trails.  Discussion ensued on whether a private vehicle was needed at Buffalo Trails.  Mark made a motion not to have a private vehicle.  Henry amended this motion by adding that all Scouts going will ride on the bus.  Adults can drive to camp but will not be reimbursed their gas for the trip.  All going to Buffalo Trails will pay the bus fee.  Committee approved the motion and amendment.

Can also purchase Splash Cash- bracelet purchased with monetary tags to pay for items in park so that money doesn't get wet or lost.  Troop will bring lunch into the water park- use only plastic containers.  Kathleen will check on closing time.  Mark stated would need the combination to the state park for access when arriving after hours.
Fishing trip/Compano- April 22-23
Equipment:  Gregg reported one tent is missing poles and one tent torn where pole is inserted. He stated he would meet with new quartermasters to go over trailer and equipment.  Gregg would like to lighten the load in the trailer if the Troop has some place to store equipment.  It was noted that the Troop should have space in the Church garage after the Festival. Gregg stated the flagpoles have also been shortened.  Mark asked for the file cabinet to be returned to the storage closet from the Church garage.
