COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES TROOP 452

JULY 7, 2003

MINUTES APPROVAL: No meeting minutes available.

SUMMER CAMP: Troop Meeting was held prior to Committee Meeting. Scouts and Adults attending camp at Bear Creek are to meet at Mary Queen parking lot Sunday, July 13, 2003 at 0730h for departure at 0800h.

TREASURER REPORT: psam Ordener reported she closed the Troop bank account, as they started charging a monthly fee. She has transferred funds to Home Town Bank, who offers free checking. In addition to Psam, Robbie McAfoos, and Alan Valichek are designated signers for the account. A fourth signer was needed. Kathleen Meyers volunteered and motion was accepted.

CALENDER REVIEW: No calendar is available at this time. August calendar is pending Robbie McAfoos approval, and Mark Manusov will post it. Kathleen Hardesty will contact Robbie to inquire about the calendar.

TROOP MEETING: It was agreed a Troop Meeting would be scheduled after the start of fall school classes. Date will be posted on the Troop calendar.

COMMITTEE MEMBERS: Position leads and members were updated. Kathleen Meyers will submit form to John Y'Barbo for update to database, and Mark Manusov for website posting.

MERIT BADGE COUNSELORS: Dawna Dotson is working on updating merit badge counselor list. Randy Ordener will take over as Church Charter Organization Representative.

TROOP ROSTER: John Y'Barbo updated the Troop Roster in June 2003, and sent the documents out in Troop email. The list still needs some updating. Kathleen Meyers will contact Lisa Newton for current membership.

DISCUSSIONS AND SUGGESTIONS: Topics for consideration at next committee meeting:

Patrol positions for all Scouts need to be verified, and leadership positions updated. All scouts in leadership positions need to be aware of the job responsibilities and training provided if needed. Patrol leaders need to meet regularly to organize agenda for Troop Meetings, and Patrol leader meetings should be submitted for inclusion in Troop Calendar.

Should attendance/roll call be taken at Troop Meetings? What should be the minimum requirement for attendance at Troop Meetings for rank advancement?

Flip-flops are not acceptable for Troop Meetings, or any Troop function. Class B uniform requirements allow the wearing of sandals. All open toe shoes must have straps behind the heel.
