Life-to-Eagle Help for Scouts and Parents

 

 

1)     RANK REQUIREMENTS

 

There are seven requirements in the Boy Scout Handbook, which must be completed and signed.  Check your handbook or go to http://www.meritbadge.com/bsa/adv/eagle.htm

 

 

 

2)     EAGLE PROJECT REQUIREMENTS

 

This is one of the requirements listed in the Eagle Rank requirements in the Boy Scout Handbook.  The Eagle Scout project goes through several reviews and signatures before the actual project may take place.  Click here for more details.

 

 

3)     EAGLE SCOUT APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

4)     ADDITIONAL TROOP REQUIREMENTS

 

Each Eagle Scout candidate must spend time with his Life-to-Eagle Coordinator and the Scoutmaster to learn what additional requirements must be met.  These are normally related to how active the scout must be in the troop at the time of his earning Eagle Rank.

 

The Eagle Scout Candidate must be able to perform the following functions without any assistance:

 

- Starting a fire with no flammable fluids or lighter.

- First Aid Skills: Sprained ankle, arm sling, arm and leg splint, large and small bleeding wounds, recognize heart attack, de-hydration, poisonous plants (poison ivy, poison oak, etc.)

- Basic knot tying: Square knot, Clove hitch, two half hitches, taut line, bowline, sheet bend.

- Recite the Scout Oath, Scout Law, Scout Motto, Scout Slogan, and the Outdoor Code without    errors or hesitation.
