From Pearson:
I am excited about my Eagle Scout project, and I need Scouts along with their parents to help me. My Eagle Scout Project involves using technology such as your smartphone or tablet, and a downloadable app. We will be using an app called ARCGIS Collector by Esri. (see attached picture of app from Google Play store).  I will be conducting an audit of all the reflectors to the fire hydrants in zone D of Pearland, around 1,000 reflectors.  It is very important that parents help with driving to ensure the safety and timeliness of this project.  Similar to posting flags, volunteers will drive a predetermined route in a designated sub-sector of Pearland and update button (blue reflector) conditions, and photograph markers for City of Pearland leaders.  From there, a reflector (button) can be marked good, damaged, or missing, and the map on the app is updated in real time.

Don't forget to follow BSA protocol for COVID, and please ask your parents to help drive their car while the Scout is in the car with them to work the map and app. The date is Saturday, February 19th, 2022 at 8:00am and the location is 3219 McLean Rd, Pearland, TX 77584 at the Lonestar pavilion next to the splash park.

Make sure to bring a refillable water bottle, a fully charged phone with charger, and a mask. Please wear a Class B uniform, please dress for the weather: if cold, bring a jacket, hat, gloves, or sweater.

Please RSVP no later than Wednesday, February 16, 2022 to pearson.polk@gmail.com and cc: stephenjpolk@gmail.com as well and let me know how many people are coming with you.  This way I can get a count for the purpose of food!  Donuts will be served in the morning at the pavilion during the safety brief and inductions.

Remember to download the ARCGIS Collector by Wednesday, February 16, 2022 before Saturday morning!
